About the role#
The Manufacturing Intern supports operations at Lexair, Inc. by assisting with projects in engineering, CNC machining, and assembly. This entry-level position is designed to provide foundational skills in a machine shop environment, with tasks assigned based on current project needs.
What you'll do#
- Assist machinists with daily tasks and machine setups.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on machines under supervision.
- Operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and dollies.
- Organize materials for machining, 3D printing, and assembly projects.
- Ensure workstations remain stocked with necessary tools and materials.
- Maintain a clean working environment and follow all safety protocols.
- Support various departments and team members as required.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a High School Diploma.
- Interest in a career in machining, engineering, or manufacturing.
- Basic understanding of mechanical tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity for small part manipulation.
Location & details#
- Location: Lexington, Kentucky (On-site).
- Schedule: Part-time, typically 4-5 hour shifts 2-3 days a week, Monday through Thursday.
- Environment: Climate-controlled facility.
