    About the role#

    The Manufacturing Intern supports operations at Lexair, Inc. by assisting with projects in engineering, CNC machining, and assembly. This entry-level position is designed to provide foundational skills in a machine shop environment, with tasks assigned based on current project needs.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist machinists with daily tasks and machine setups.
    • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on machines under supervision.
    • Operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and dollies.
    • Organize materials for machining, 3D printing, and assembly projects.
    • Ensure workstations remain stocked with necessary tools and materials.
    • Maintain a clean working environment and follow all safety protocols.
    • Support various departments and team members as required.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a High School Diploma.
    • Interest in a career in machining, engineering, or manufacturing.
    • Basic understanding of mechanical tools and equipment.
    • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
    • Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team environment.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Manual dexterity for small part manipulation.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Lexington, Kentucky (On-site).
    • Schedule: Part-time, typically 4-5 hour shifts 2-3 days a week, Monday through Thursday.
    • Environment: Climate-controlled facility.
