About the role#
Lexair, Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Intern to support operations at our Lexington facility. This role focuses on assisting with daily machine shop tasks, equipment maintenance, and project support across engineering, CNC machining, and assembly. You will gain foundational skills in a machine shop environment while working on tasks like 3D printing, PLC controls, and assembly projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist machinists with daily tasks and machine setups.
- Clean and maintain tools, machinery, and work areas.
- Operate material handling equipment like pallet jacks and dollies.
- Ensure workstations remain stocked with necessary materials.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting under supervision.
- Support various departments and team members as needed.
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a clean work environment.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a High School Diploma.
- You have an interest in pursuing a career in engineering, machining, or manufacturing.
- You possess a basic understanding of mechanical tools and equipment.
- You have a strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- You can follow directions and work well within a team.
- You have good communication skills.
- You are physically able to stand, bend, and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, part-time, paid internship located in Lexington, Kentucky.
- The role follows a rolling term.
- We are looking for students pursuing degrees in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- You will work in a climate-controlled facility.
