Support engineering staff by performing research, design support, documentation and support of testing of real-time, embedded and analytical computer software applications and/or systems. Develop documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance, as well as, interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.Job Responsibilities Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of computer software using real-time operating systems Provide regular reporting of progress and status Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices Complete assigned tasks on time Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Qualifications Degree(s) Required: Associate’s Degree or 3rd Year status minimum in an Engineering curriculum Degree(s) Preferred: Pursuing undergraduate, Master's or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Must be enrolled in an accredited university and maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA Must be able work onsite in Cypress, CA Desired Skills C/C++, C#, Python and other computer languages VxWorks, Green Hills Integrity, Windows and Linux Image Processing Windows applications using VisualStudio and other tools Use of embedded software on ARM, DSP and FPGA hardware Familiarity with Object Oriented Design Patterns and UML Proficient in Microsoft Office Software Willing to learn new technologies U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment. The salary for this position is $28/hour. This rate reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications.
