This internship provides hands-on training in electrical design for building systems. You will work alongside professional engineers and designers to contribute to complex MEP projects, gaining experience in electrical infrastructure and energy-efficient design. This is a full-time position for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Learn and implement electrical system basics, including power distribution, lighting, controls, and fire alarm systems for new construction and renovation projects.
- Produce detailed layouts, equipment details, and one-line diagrams or schematics for building electrical systems.
- Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of construction drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop various aspects of project designs.
- Assist with data collection and field verification as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week).
