About the role#
This internship/co-op position offers hands-on training in electrical design for building systems. You will work alongside professional engineers to develop project aspects, learn electrical system basics, and contribute to complex MEP projects. This is a full-time, paid position for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Learn and implement electrical system basics, including power distribution, lighting, controls, and fire alarm systems.
- Produce detailed layouts and equipment details for building electrical systems.
- Create one-line diagrams and schematics.
- Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of construction drawings.
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to develop various aspects of building projects.
- Potentially assist with data collection and field verification.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or mechanical engineering.
- Strong interest in building systems electrical engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- AutoCAD and Revit experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work full time during the co-op term.
