About the role#
This Construction Management Intern/Co-op position provides hands-on experience with project coordination and fieldwork in the commercial HVAC and mechanical systems industry. You will work alongside experienced construction managers and engineers to support projects from pre-construction planning through final closeout. This is a full-time, paid summer 2027 opportunity based in Prospect, Kentucky.
What you'll do#
- Review project drawings to identify scope, constructability, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the subcontractor selection and bid process, including the preparation of RFPs.
- Assist with project scheduling and the coordination of subcontractors.
- Prepare weekly field reports to track site conditions and overall project progress.
- Help gather and organize project closeout materials, such as O&M manuals.
- Attend construction meetings and assist with documentation.
- Support the procurement of equipment and construction materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of construction processes and mechanical or HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work within a team and collaborate with various project stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
