About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Rochester, New York. You will join our team to support procurement and supply chain operations. This position follows a rolling term structure.
What you'll do#
- Submit RFQs to suppliers to build consolidated material list pricing.
- Procure supplies, equipment, services, and commodity products.
- Negotiate price, quality, and delivery terms while selecting suppliers.
- Manage purchase orders by tracking reports, open commitments, receiving discrepancies, and returns.
- Work with accounting and receiving teams to resolve operational issues.
- Talk to suppliers to identify factors that impact the total cost of ownership.
- Interpret FAR, DFAR, and ITAR regulations regarding import and export licenses.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Supply Chain Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, or Business Administration.
- Knowledge of supply chain concepts, purchasing principles, and negotiation strategies.
- Familiarity with spend management, commodity management, and supplier performance tools.
- Ability to perform financial and quantitative analysis.
- Understanding of different contract types and the sourcing process.
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
