About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work on the development of software for tactical radio equipment. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to build interfaces between hardware and software while defining system performance requirements.
What you'll do#
- Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to software development.
- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, from requirements analysis to final testing.
- Develop software test procedures, programs, and technical documentation.
- Use modeling tools to establish operating data and conduct experimental tests.
- Participate in peer reviews to identify, track, and repair defects.
- Work with languages such as C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, and Qt.
- Develop for Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and embedded real-time operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program at an accredited university.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences, or a related field.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Rochester, New York.
- The role is on-site and full-time.
- The work schedule follows a 9/80 format, where you work 80 hours over 9 days and have every other Friday off.
