About the role#
Voyager Technologies is offering a 10-week immersive internship for the Summer 2027 term. This program runs from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. You will work on software projects that support our defense, national security, and space technology initiatives. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. Please note that we do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software for assigned projects.
- Work with existing codebases, APIs, databases, and development tools.
- Develop and implement software features, services, and applications.
- Integrate software components and validate functionality through testing and debugging.
- Write and execute test cases to verify that software meets requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
- Document technical designs, testing activities, and integration steps.
- Collaborate with software, systems, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and technical discussions.
- Contribute ideas to improve software functionality and team efficiency.
- Complete assigned projects and deliverables within established timelines.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- A solid understanding of fundamental software engineering and programming concepts.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Familiarity with software development principles, APIs, and databases.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- The ability to learn and apply new programming languages and development environments.
- Ability to travel for in-person orientation and the final program presentation.
- Experience through previous internships, coursework, or academic projects is preferred.
- Experience with software applications, scripts, or automation tools.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Experience with cloud technologies, software frameworks, or continuous integration practices.
- Exposure to AI/ML, data processing, or embedded software is a plus.
- Must meet U.S. Government export regulation requirements for space technology, including ITAR compliance.
Location & details#
This role is based on-site at one of our offices in San Diego, CA; El Segundo, CA; Folsom, CA; Long Beach, CA; Reno, NV; Pittsburgh, PA; or Houston, TX. The pay range for this position is $23.50 to $30.00 per hour, determined by your academic year, major, business line, and location.
