About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern at L3Harris Technologies, you will work on software development for advanced tactical radio equipment. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to build and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software. This role covers the entire software development life cycle, from initial requirements analysis to final testing.
What you'll do#
- Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to software development.
- Design and evaluate system-level operational performance requirements.
- Develop software programs, test procedures, and technical documentation.
- Use modeling tools to establish operating data and conduct experimental tests.
- Participate in peer reviews to maintain code quality.
- Identify, track, and repair software defects.
- Work with languages such as C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, and Qt.
- Develop for various platforms including Windows, Linux, mobile, and embedded real-time operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program at an accredited university.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences, or a related field.
Location & details#
- Location: Rochester, New York.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 9/80 schedule, which includes 80 hours of work over 9 days with every other Friday off.
- Compensation: $26.50 to $31.00 per hour.
