About the role#
Northrop Grumman is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is located in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and requires full-time, on-site work. You will join the Multidomain Sensing, Targeting, and Survivability Division to work on navigation, targeting, and self-protection systems.
What you'll do#
You will participate in the full life-cycle of digital electronic equipment and hardware systems. Your responsibilities include design, implementation, test verification, and production support.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- You must remain enrolled full-time for the Fall 2027 semester.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher is preferred.
- An active U.S. Government Secret clearance is preferred.
- Helpful coursework includes C, C++, Java, software architecture, operating system concepts, software development methodologies, version control, or Agile planning tools.
