About the role#
Raytheon is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and supports the Space and RF Sensors team. You will work on embedded software development and integration for advanced airborne sensor systems. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring U.S. citizenship.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design, development, and maintenance of software for aerospace and defense applications.
- Implement, test, and debug software solutions to meet project requirements.
- Collaborate with systems and hardware engineering teams to ensure system performance.
- Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects.
- Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 60 credit hours completed by the start of the internship.
- Active enrollment through the duration of the internship.
- Proficiency in C, C++, Python, or Java.
- Understanding of software development life cycles and Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with Git, software testing tools, DevOps practices, and machine learning concepts is preferred.
