About the role#
L3Harris Technologies is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support operations within the Space and Mission Systems segment. This role offers exposure to manufacturing, quality, testing, environmental health and safety, and continuous improvement functions. You will work with wireless products, fiber optics, robotics, and RF devices tailored to intelligence and cyber applications.
What you'll do#
- Implement and analyze manufacturing plans and projects.
- Develop process improvements to create efficiencies and optimize product flow.
- Maintain records and reporting systems to coordinate manufacturing operations.
- Build digital dashboards using PowerBI to track manufacturing metrics.
- Recommend tooling and process requirements for new product introductions.
- Support AI adoption within manufacturing work cells.
- Assist with quality assurance tasks like root cause corrective action and mistake-proofing.
- Work on cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences program in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Proficiency with SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and PowerBI.
- Experience with data analytics and technical writing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S+1, and Kaizen events is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Palm Bay, Florida.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Schedule: Full-time, 9/80 schedule (80 hours over 9 days with every other Friday off).
- This is a paid internship. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
