About the role#
The Space Operations Engineering Intern provides technical support to engineering teams working on the development, integration, test, and evaluation of complex systems. You will assist with engineering activities across the program lifecycle under supervision. This role focuses on applying engineering principles and technical tools to real-world problems in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of operational analyses and concept of operations documentation.
- Help create test plans, procedures, and test cases for verification and validation efforts.
- Participate in laboratory, system, or field testing activities and document the results.
- Assist with the analysis of system requirements derived from stakeholders and users.
- Participate in Space Operations Command and Control (C2) activities.
- Use scripting, software tools, and troubleshooting techniques to support engineering tasks.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate status and results to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, software, hardware, and project engineering personnel.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
- Experience with Systems Tool Kit (STK), Level 2 and 3.
- Prior internship, academic project, laboratory, or team-based engineering experience.
Location & details#
- Location: Palm Bay, Florida.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 9/80 schedule (80 hours worked over 9 days, with every other Friday off).
- This is a paid, full-time internship position.
