About the role#
As an Info Sec Sys Engineer Intern, you will support the cybersecurity infrastructure that helps the team detect and respond to threats. You will work alongside Security Operations and Incident Response teams to keep monitoring and response technologies running. This role involves maintaining mission-critical systems and improving how the company handles security telemetry.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and support the enterprise cybersecurity infrastructure.
- Assist with the deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of security technologies.
- Build and maintain integrations between security platforms and logging systems.
- Create automation scripts and workflows to help with operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot system performance and platform reliability.
- Document system architecture, operational procedures, and configuration standards.
- Collaborate with teams to onboard new data sources and tune security monitoring platforms.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A strong interest in IT security.
- Ability to explain technical ideas to both technical and non-technical users.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python and PowerShell.
- Exposure to security tools such as SIEM, IDS, NSM, and SOAR.
- Experience or exposure to REST APIs, microservices, CI/CD concepts, Git, Docker, and cloud providers.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
