About the role#
As an Environmental Health and Safety Intern, you will support the development and maintenance of our safety management systems. You will help create programs to control environmental risks and ensure the site meets all regulatory requirements. This role involves active participation in site audits, project reviews, and daily operations to ensure we remain compliant with environmental standards.
What you'll do#
- Support the implementation of environmental health and safety management systems.
- Develop programs to prevent and control environmental risks.
- Ensure compliance with air permits, waste management, and wastewater operations.
- Conduct site audits, analyze results, and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage the collection of records and calculations for environmental reporting.
- Oversee inspection activities, emission reporting, and deviation management.
- Participate in the review and approval of operations and facilities projects.
- Maintain records and submit required forms to state and municipal agencies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and maintain flexibility.
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
- Experience with Tier II, TRI/Form R, NPDES, and hazardous waste reporting is preferred.
- FE, ASP, or APE certifications are a plus.
