About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering intern at L3Harris, you will learn to design, test, and sustain electronics for maritime applications. You will work on-site in Northampton, Massachusetts, gaining experience in the full product lifecycle from initial concept through to hardware release and production support. This role involves hands-on work with Circuit Card Assemblies in a production environment.
What you'll do#
- Support senior engineers in the design, development, testing, and documentation of mixed-signal Circuit Card Assemblies.
- Assist with reviewing requirements, conducting basic circuit analysis, and selecting components.
- Review Printed Wiring Board layouts and coordinate fabrication and assembly questions.
- Help with hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and the evaluation of prototypes and production hardware.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, mechanical, software, firmware, and manufacturing.
- Assist with engineering documentation, design reviews, and technical presentations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Coursework or project experience with analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit design.
- Basic knowledge of printed wiring boards, component selection, or electronic test equipment.
- Exposure to programming languages like C, C++, Python, LabVIEW, VHDL, or Verilog.

- Location: Northampton, Massachusetts.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 9/80 schedule (80 hours over 9 days with every other Friday off).
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
