About the role#
KPMG Canada is seeking undergraduate students for the Forensic Financial Crimes practice in Toronto. This internship provides hands-on exposure to client engagements within the National Financial Crimes Centre of Excellence. You will work alongside professionals to help organizations manage financial crime risk through regulatory expertise, data analytics, and technology.
What you'll do#
- Support client engagements related to AML, sanctions, anti-corruption, and financial crime risk management.
- Assist with data analysis activities, including reviewing datasets and identifying trends.
- Support transaction monitoring reviews and model validation activities.
- Contribute to data mapping, cleansing, and remediation efforts.
- Conduct research on emerging financial crime trends and regulatory developments.
What you'll need#
- A strong academic record in engineering, mathematics, data science, computer science, business, finance, accounting, economics, or criminology.
- Interest in financial crime, including AML, sanctions, fraud, anti-corruption, or regulatory compliance.
- Foundational analytical skills and experience working with data using tools such as SQL, Python, or R.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
