About the role#
KPMG Canada is seeking undergraduate students for the Forensic Technology practice in Toronto. This role offers hands-on experience in digital investigations, eDiscovery, and data analysis. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support the identification, acquisition, and processing of digital evidence for legal and regulatory matters.
What you'll do#
- Assist with data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
- Support eDiscovery and digital evidence processing workflows.
- Work with structured forensic methodologies and documentation standards.
- Learn and apply industry-recognized tools in real investigative scenarios.
- Contribute to maintaining evidence integrity and chain-of-custody records.
What you'll need#
- Currently completing a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Strong interest in digital forensics, eDiscovery, or cybersecurity investigations.
- Experience with scripting, such as Python, or automation through coursework or projects.
- Familiarity with at least one forensic tool, such as EnCase, Magnet Axiom, X-Ways, FTK, Cellebrite, or IEF.
- Hands-on experience from digital forensics or incident response labs, class projects, or prior co-op placements.
