About the role#
The MTBI Co-op assists in the development and implementation of mechanical assembly policies and procedures. You will work directly with the Production Lead to ensure project tasks are completed on schedule while following safety policies.
What you'll do#
- Assemble parts using hand tools in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Read and interpret machine-tool build assembly drawings.
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts using measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and scissor lifts, including work at heights.
- Travel to customer locations to support service and installation teams.
- Maintain a professional role in support of the corporate vision and participate in team meetings.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and project operating policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary degree, diploma, or equivalent program that requires a co-op or work term.
- Studies focused on Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to establish priorities.
- A valid driver's license and a provided MVR driving record.
- Ability to work as a self-starter and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends or travel as required.
