About the role#
This internship is with the RSP QA team. You will validate software features for IP switching platforms using manual and automated testing. You will work with experienced engineers to learn about end-to-end IP systems and software quality processes.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers to set up new lab topologies.
- Develop new Python automation scripts and improve existing ones.
- Execute test suites to validate software features.
- Identify, report, and retest software defects.
- Learn about software development lifecycle processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology.
- Foundational knowledge of software development.
- Proficiency with Python.
- An interest in data communications and packet/IP networks is a plus, as is experience with AI/ML technologies.
Location & details#
- Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2026 (4, 8, 12, or 16 months starting in September 2026).
- Status: Full-time, paid position.
- Compensation: $25.50 - $35.00 per hour.
