WaveLogic Systems Design Architecture Intern

About the role#

This is an 8-12 month internship role for the WaveLogic Systems Design Architecture team. The position is full-time, on-site in Ottawa, Ontario, and is open for terms starting between September 2026 and September 2027. This is a paid position.

What you'll do#

• Assist with Design Verification Testing (DVT), including optical performance, power consumption, and electrical performance.
• Capture, post-analyze, and present data gathered during DVT tests.
• Automate software test cases and conduct hands-on testing of features on optical modules using evaluation boards, GUIs, and Python scripting.
• Identify technical issues and collaborate with hardware and software design teams to drive resolutions.
• Provide feedback on designs to help drive improvements into optical modules.

What you'll need#

• Currently working towards a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Programming, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Proficiency with the MS Office suite, specifically Word and Excel, including the ability to work with large data sets.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and under direction.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Coding experience with MATLAB and Java scripting.
• Experience or knowledge regarding lab test equipment.

• Compensation: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour.
