About the role#
This is an 8-12 month internship role based in Ottawa, Ontario. The position is for students available between September 2026 and September 2027. You will join the team as a contributor, focusing on hardware performance testing and software aspects of modem products. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with Design Verification Testing (DVT), covering optical performance, power consumption, and electrical performance.
- Capture, analyze, and present data gathered during DVT tests.
- Automate software test cases and perform hands-on testing of optical module features using evaluation boards and GUIs.
- Identify technical issues and work with hardware and software design teams to drive resolutions.
- Provide design feedback to help improve optical modules.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Programming, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Python.
- Experience or knowledge working with lab test equipment.
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite, specifically Word and Excel, including the ability to work with large data sets.
- Coding experience with MATLAB or Java scripting is an asset.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently or under direction.

- Compensation: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour.
