Mechanical Engineering Support Coop

About the role#

The Mechanical Engineering Support Coop will work directly with the Mechanical Engineering Manager to assist in delivering standards, procedures, efficiency tools, and strategic initiatives. This role involves collaborating with engineering staff to support internal workflows and design systems.

What you'll do#

• Analyze existing engineering workflows to create relevant procedures and work instructions.
• Create process flow maps and analyze engineering data to identify areas for design reuse.
• Produce working drawings, detail drawings, and bills of materials for designs, sub-assemblies, and products using SolidWorks.
• Work within SolidWorks PDM to transition files through workflows and populate CAD data into engineering design libraries.
• Create productivity tools using SolidWorks and develop technical content for the central knowledge base.
• Assist stakeholders in advancing training materials through documentation or video.
• Ensure scheduled milestones are met and communicate progress to relevant departments.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary engineering degree or diploma specializing in robotics & automation, mechanical, systems, or mechatronics engineering.
• Post-secondary level proficiency in SolidWorks and MS Office.
• Knowledge of developing SolidWorks macros and design tools.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities and work without supervision.
• Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
