About the role#
As an Intern Business Analyst within the IT Application Excellence team, you will support technology selection, process improvement, and the administration of business systems. You will partner with internal stakeholders and IT Business Partners to understand business objectives and operating models. Your work will focus on identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity through technology solutions.
What you'll do#
- Partner with business stakeholders, developers, administrators, and solution architects to translate requirements into scalable technology solutions.
- Support day-to-day ticket operations by triaging and resolving incidents, service requests, and user inquiries.
- Assist with the administration of enterprise applications, including Salesforce and other go-to-market platforms.
- Participate in requirements gathering, business process analysis, impact assessments, testing, and solution validation.
- Configure, test, and deploy low-code solutions and automation initiatives.
- Create and maintain application documentation, knowledge articles, user guides, and training materials.
- Collaborate with Agile delivery teams by participating in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release activities.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions to gather feedback and document action items.
- Provide ongoing user support, troubleshooting, and training for enterprise applications.
- Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Software Engineering, Information Systems, Business Technology Management, Engineering, or a related program.
- Strong interest in business systems, software delivery, and technology-enabled business transformation.
- Experience working with or learning low-code/no-code platforms such as Salesforce.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
- Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn new technologies.
- Initiative, accountability, and a customer-focused mindset.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, user story management, or software development lifecycle concepts is an asset.
- Salesforce experience (Administration, Automations, Reports, Dashboards, Security) or certifications are a strong asset.
- Experience working in a software development, application support, or IT delivery team is a strong asset.
Location & details#
- Location: Ottawa, Ontario (Hybrid, with at least three days per week in the office).
- Term: Full-time, Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $19.46 - $28.55 hourly rate, based on skills, education, and experience.
