About the role#
We are looking for a Software Developer Co-op to join our engineering team. You will work on our SaaS product and gain hands-on experience with tools like Ruby on Rails, React Native, MySQL, and Redis. You will receive coaching and mentorship from experienced developers while tackling technical challenges. This is a full-time, paid position for an 8-month term spanning Winter and Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and deploy high-quality software code.
- Contribute to technical scoping and project planning.
- Communicate progress and address project impediments.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the development organization.
- Participate in code reviews for yourself and your peers.
- Drive the implementation of new features.
- Deliver software solutions for customer-impacting issues.
- Participate in team-level and company-wide initiatives.
- Coordinate product support through a rotational assignment.
- Commit to continuous professional development.
What you'll need#
- Completed second-year coursework and currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th-year Computer Science or Computer Engineering student.
- Strong critical thinking skills and a drive to solve problems.
- Solid computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
- Knowledge of programming languages and SQL.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A keen interest in improving your craft through the use of AI.
Location & details#
- Locations: Toronto, ON; Vancouver, BC; Calgary, AB.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with an expectation to be in the office at least twice per week.
- Term: Winter 2027 to Summer 2027.
- Compensation: The base pay for this role is $67,000 CAD, plus 4% vacation pay.
