About the role#
As a Fire Sprinkler Design Intern, you will work within the Design Department to support fire suppression projects. This is a full-time, paid internship that offers hands-on experience in drafting and design. You will work under the supervision of the Area Design Manager or Contract Design Manager to help manage and design assigned projects.
What you'll do#
- Revise shop drawings to meet project requirements.
- Prepare job packets and create test papers.
- Manage plotting tasks.
- Prepare CAD backgrounds for design use.
- Take on project management and design responsibilities with direct supervision.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Students with an Associates degree are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work productively to meet deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to follow safety policies and instructions.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Omaha, Nebraska or Hanover, Maryland.
- The position follows a rolling term structure.
- Candidates must be able to work full-time during the summer, with part-time availability during the school year being optional.
