About the role#
This is a full-time, six-month R&D Engineering Co-op position based in West Chester, Pennsylvania. You will work on projects within the Extremity, Thoracic, and Craniomaxillofacial anatomy regions. This role offers hands-on experience in the medical device and orthopedic fields.
What you'll do#
- Design surgical implants and instruments using Creo.
- Draft protocols and design fixtures for development tests, then interpret results to propose design changes.
- Support verification activities, including drawing reviews, tolerance stack analyses, mechanical testing, and finite element analyses.
- Complete design risk assessments and propose solutions to minimize occurrence potentials.
- Assist with end user assessments, including participation in cadaver labs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor of Science program for Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering with a mechanical design emphasis.
- Standing as a Junior or Senior student with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Experience with Creo, mechanical testing, and medical device documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and set priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to multidisciplinary audiences.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
