    About the role#

    This is a part-time, year-round software engineering position based in Waterloo, Iowa. You will join an Agile development team to build digital manufacturing solutions. This role is designed for students who can balance work with their academic schedule.

    What you'll do#

    • Support backend and frontend development for manufacturing applications.
    • Collaborate with AI coding agents to explore design alternatives and speed up implementation.
    • Practice spec-driven development by turning product intent into clear implementation plans.
    • Write, test, and deliver software functionality.
    • Create and maintain development documentation, processes, and best practices.
    • Participate in technical design discussions and gain experience with tools such as Python, TypeScript, React, SQL, Databricks, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, and Redis.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a full-time student at a local accredited university.
    • A major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    • A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
    • An expected graduation date of Spring 2027 or later.
    • Foundational coding knowledge and effective problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated aptitude for web development.
    • Ability to commute to Waterloo, Iowa, for on-site work.
    • Availability to work 16-20 hours per week during the academic year and 30-40 hours during the summer.
