    About the role#

    This is a year-round, part-time position for students to work alongside our full-time staff. You will support the development of electric drive systems for John Deere Power Systems. This role requires on-site work in Morrisville, North Carolina.

    What you'll do#

    • Design, analyze, and test electric drive systems including batteries, inverters, motors, converters, and chargers.
    • Define system concepts and requirements.
    • Integrate systems into vehicles.
    • Conduct performance testing in both lab and vehicle environments.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university.
    • Completed your sophomore year by the start of employment.
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
    • Working knowledge and hands-on experience testing electrical components with standard lab equipment.
    • Ability to work 16-20 hours per week during the academic year and 35-40 hours per week during the summer.
    • Familiarity with modeling or symbolic programming tools like Matlab, Simulink, or LabView.
