About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern at Nucor Steel Brandenburg, you will work directly with our maintenance and production teams. This is a hands-on role where you contribute to projects that improve safety, cost, and equipment reliability. You will spend your time in the field, gaining practical experience in a steel manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Learn the fundamentals of power distribution and process control used in steel making.
- Manage engineering and maintenance projects with a focus on safety and reliability.
- Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance routines.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Apply your knowledge of system troubleshooting, power quality, and power transmission to real-world processes.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A fundamental understanding of protection and control schemes.
- The ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards.
- Willingness to work both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
