About the role#
This co-op position offers hands-on experience in integrated circuit design, system simulation, and software development. You will work within a collaborative engineering environment, contributing to executable software models that simulate IP and SoC hardware. You will support architectural exploration and pre-silicon firmware development while working alongside experienced engineers to solve complex hardware and software challenges.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and test executable software models for IP and SoC hardware.
- Support architectural exploration and pre-silicon firmware validation.
- Investigate and resolve complex debugging and development challenges.
- Build infrastructure to support simulation, modeling, and testing activities.
- Apply software development and testing methodologies to create reliable solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering stakeholders to provide technical support.
- Work on projects involving integrated circuit design and test.
- Learn and apply industry-standard tools and engineering processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 months of relevant experience from internships, school projects, or coursework.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design methodologies.
- Experience with C or C++.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team.
- General knowledge of embedded systems, digital ASIC design, or firmware development is an asset.
- Experience with embedded software development on ARM, RISC-V, or x86 platforms is preferred.
- Scripting experience with Python or TCL is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid co-op position.
- The role is fully remote within Ontario or British Columbia.
- Occasional in-person meetings in the Vancouver area may be required based on business needs.
