About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience with internal audit responsibilities and processes. You will work under the guidance of audit staff to support financial and operational audit activities across the business. You will gain exposure to internal controls, audit methodology, and company operations while contributing to real audit engagements.
What you'll do#
- Assist with audits and reviews of financial and operational processes.
- Document business processes to support the evaluation of control design and effectiveness.
- Gather and organize evidence to support audit testing and conclusions.
- Participate in team discussions regarding control strengths and weaknesses, contributing your own observations and ideas.
- Support the team in tracking the status of audit observations and remediation plans.
- Prepare summaries, schedules, or working papers under the review of audit staff.
- Communicate with team members to gather information and ask clarifying questions.
- Complete a summer project or presentation to be shared with the executive management team and fellow interns.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Coursework or demonstrated interest in accounting, finance, business, or risk management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative in a professional office environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Junior standing is preferred, though sophomores will be considered.
- Interest in pursuing a professional certification like CPA, CIA, CISA, or CMA after graduation.
- Prior coursework, project, or leadership experience involving data analysis or business processes.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and sound judgment.
