About the role#
J.D. Irving, Limited is looking for a Human Resources Student to join the Construction and Equipment Division in Saint John, New Brunswick. This role is for students entering their final year of study who want to gain practical experience in talent acquisition. You will work approximately 20 hours per week during the academic year.
What you'll do#
- Manage the full recruitment cycle including sourcing, screening, scheduling interviews, and recommending candidates.
- Maintain the applicant tracking system and ensure a positive experience for all candidates.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates.
- Partner with hiring managers to coordinate interviews and collect feedback.
- Promote the division through social media, job boards, and events.
- Support campus recruitment, job fairs, and marketing efforts.
- Participate in team meetings, research projects, and process improvements.
- Handle additional tasks to support the talent acquisition team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program for Human Resources or Business.
- Status as a student entering your final year of studies.
- Ability to work 20 hours per week during the school year.
- Strong interest in recruitment and talent acquisition.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- A proactive approach to learning and improvement.

- Terms: Winter 2027 and Fall 2027.
