About the role#
Interfor is seeking a Human Resources Intern to join our team in Chase, British Columbia. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work directly with our HR team to gain practical experience in an operational environment, supporting various administrative and project-based tasks.
What you'll do#
- Support the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening, and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR system data.
- Provide administrative support for employee relations, attendance, performance management, benefits, and payroll.
- Assist employees and supervisors by answering general HR inquiries.
- Compile data for HR reporting and analytics regarding recruitment, turnover, and training.
- Coordinate employee engagement, wellness initiatives, and site events.
- Assist with policy updates, workplace investigations, and HR communications.
- Collaborate with Operations, Payroll, and Safety teams on regional projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree or diploma program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Clear and professional communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with Excel formulas, pivot tables, or reporting is an asset.
- A curious and adaptable mindset for learning HR processes in a manufacturing setting.
