About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within a modern sawmill. You will work alongside experienced professionals to understand how equipment, technology, and people combine to produce wood products. This is a full-time, on-site role for the Summer 2027 term, with an expected duration of 4 to 8 months.
What you'll do#
- Learn how a modern sawmill operates and explore production processes.
- Contribute to projects focused on operational efficiency, process improvement, and production performance.
- Analyze data and observations to find ways to improve mill operations.
- Develop leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with teams to safely produce quality wood products.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree or diploma program in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Wood Products Processing, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively across different teams.
- A curious, hands-on approach to problem-solving and learning how manufacturing operations function.
Location & details#
- Location: Longview, Washington.
- Compensation: Starting at $3,350 per month, depending on experience and year in school.
- Additional support: A temporary living allowance is available for those relocating for the role.
- Requirements: Candidates must pass a background check and a pre-employment drug test, including testing for cannabis.
