About the role#
Interfor is hiring a Quality Control Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Elk Lake, Ontario. You will work alongside experienced professionals to build practical skills and solve real manufacturing challenges. The internship duration is expected to be between 4 and 8 months, starting in May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collect, analyze, and interpret quality and operational data from various areas of the mill.
- Participate in inspections, surveys, and process reviews to help identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist with quality improvement projects, reporting, and performance tracking.
- Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to support product quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Gain hands-on experience solving manufacturing challenges.
What you'll need#
- Currently working towards a degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another industry-related program.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Interest in hands-on work within an industrial setting.
- Strong communication skills and a preference for team collaboration.

- Location: Elk Lake, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Summer 2027 (4-8 months).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid position with a starting salary of $3,350 per month, plus a temporary living allowance for those relocating to the area.
- Requirements: All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
