About the role#
We are looking for Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Technology students to join our Pulp and Paper Division for the Winter 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site in Saint John or Utopia, New Brunswick. You will work in a safety-focused environment while gaining hands-on experience in the electrical and instrumentation trades.
What you'll do#
- Support qualified tradespeople in their daily tasks.
- Assist with troubleshooting and programming for distributed controls (DCS) and programmable controls (PLC).
- Install and maintain control equipment.
- Contribute to preventative maintenance, process improvement, and continuous improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma.
- Current enrollment in a 3-year Electrical, Controls and Technology program.
- Good academic standing.
- Availability for full-time work from January to April 2027.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Previous experience in the pulp and paper or heavy industry sectors is an asset.
