About the role#
Join the Itron HRIS team to gain hands-on experience with People Analytics. You will support projects that drive data-informed workforce decisions across our global organization. This role involves working with HR technology, workforce data, and various business stakeholders to support our mission in the utilities and energy technology sector.
What you'll do#
- Collect, organize, validate, and analyze workforce and HR data to identify trends.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations for leadership.
- Partner with HR, HRIS, and Talent Acquisition teams to meet reporting requirements.
- Identify and apply AI and machine learning techniques to existing datasets.
- Prototype and pilot AI-powered reporting tools.
- Prepare and cleanse data to ensure quality across HR systems.
- Create presentations that communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate on HR technology enhancements and reporting automation.
- Uphold data privacy, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or graduate program in Human Resources, HRIS, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Technical experience with data, reporting, or business intelligence tools.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, R, or similar analytical tools.
- Ability to analyze complex information and communicate findings clearly.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working independently on multiple priorities.
- Commitment to inclusive practices and ethical decision-making.
- Preferred: Experience with HR systems like Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or UKG.
- Preferred: Knowledge of workforce metrics, talent analytics, or employee experience data.
- Preferred: Previous experience in people analytics, research, or academic projects.

- Location: Liberty Lake, Washington.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid (2 days per week onsite).
- Employment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: Paid internship.
