Student Intern - Mid-Michigan Area (Undergrad Ministry)

About the role#

This internship is designed for students currently enrolled in a four-year or community college to learn the fundamentals of campus ministry. The role focuses on spiritual development, gaining ministry experience, and discerning a call to service within InterVarsity. Interns work closely with a campus ministry team to support the mission of fostering witnessing communities that are bold, broad, and ethnically diverse.

What you'll do#

• Participate in the campus ministry team to help cast spiritual vision and execute plans for growth.
• Teach students how to study, love, and apply Scripture to their daily lives.
• Actively promote the ministry mission on campus and seek opportunities to share the Gospel.
• Model and assist students and faculty in growing in their appreciation for diverse cultures and ethnicities.
• Encourage a prayerful lifestyle among students, particularly those who do not yet follow Jesus.
• Serve as an ambassador for the ministry to churches and individual partners.
• Engage in ongoing training and supervision provided by ministry staff.

What you'll need#

• Must be a follower of Jesus Christ and annually affirm the InterVarsity Statement of Agreement.
• A developing passion for evangelism.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, including initiative, self-awareness, communication skills, professionalism, and cross-cultural competence.
• A strong desire to learn and work effectively within a team environment.
• Current enrollment in a college or university. (Note: Specific year-standing requirements apply based on institution type).

• Compensation: This is a paid position. Compensation is funded through personal fundraising; actual pay is dependent on the individual's ability to secure a donor team to cover salary costs.
