About the role#
Intertek is seeking a Field Testing Intern to join the Building Enclosure Testing team for the summer of 2026. This role focuses on building enclosure field testing for new construction and retrofit projects. The position involves significant hands-on field work and requires a willingness to travel 75% of the time or more.
What you'll do#
- Assist with field testing projects and building envelope testing under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Support building envelope field testing through chamber construction and testing according to ASTM and AAMA standards.
- Collaborate with clients and project teams regarding site observations, test preparation, procedures, results, and reporting.
- Assist with project coordination, including planning, scheduling, execution, and documentation.
- Prepare accurate and concise project reports and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Comfort working with elevated platforms.
- Ability to routinely lift at least 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, bend, crawl, push, and pull.
- Valid driver’s license and a reliable driving record.
