About the role#
Intertek is hiring an intern for the Fall 2026 term to join the Building and Construction team in El Paso, Texas. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position. You will receive hands-on training and mentorship while gaining experience in construction materials testing and site assessments.
What you'll do#
- Perform testing, project-specific observations, and site assessments.
- Operate testing equipment for materials such as soil and concrete.
- Use drawings, specifications, and diagrams to complete tasks.
- Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
- Assist in preparing work orders for construction material testing.
- Communicate with clients and project teams.
- Assist with soil classification and laboratory testing.
- Perform data entry and provide administrative support.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or Industrial Engineering degree program.
- A valid driver's license and a reliable driving record.
- Ability to read and understand work plans.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, stand for long periods, and work off-shifts or overtime as required.
