About the role#
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Fall 2026 Operations Intern to support office functions and inventory management in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship designed for current students or recent graduates who are interested in gaining experience in operations, logistics, and non-profit administration.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Administrative Assistant with managing reception materials and responding to client inquiries.
- Coordinate with office and equipment maintenance providers.
- Manage incoming, existing, and outgoing inventory, including stocking donations and recording client distributions.
- Conduct weekly vehicle inspections using a standard checklist.
- Perform data entry for inventory counts using Microsoft Excel, Sortly, and other internal platforms.
- Facilitate staff and client visits to the Contributions-In-Kind stock room.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student, or within 12 months of graduation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn new data entry software.
- Strong intercultural communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to handle sensitive client information with strict confidentiality.
- Access to a personal vehicle or reliable transportation.
- Capability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
- Fluency in English, with Spanish language skills considered an asset.
- Relevant academic background in Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, Public Health, or Human Resources.
