About the role#
We are looking for an Inside Sales Engineer Intern to join our HVAC equipment team for Summer 2027. You will work with Inside and Outside Sales Engineers to support projects from initial design and equipment selection through estimating, proposals, submittals, ordering, and delivery. This internship combines engineering, project coordination, customer interaction, and sales support. You will receive feedback from team members while building skills for a career in HVAC sales engineering.
What you'll do#
- Partner with sales engineers to support commercial HVAC projects.
- Review mechanical plans, specifications, schedules, and project documents.
- Assist with selecting and applying HVAC equipment based on project needs.
- Prepare equipment estimates, pricing, quotations, proposals, and design alternatives.
- Coordinate pricing, availability, lead times, and technical requirements with manufacturers.
- Prepare technical submittals, product data, and project materials.
- Track project schedules, ship dates, and open follow-up items.
- Communicate with customers, contractors, engineers, and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate job files and project records in company systems.
- Help investigate technical concerns and identify solutions.
- Participate in customer meetings and project discussions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Computer, or Civil Engineering.
- Ideally entering your junior or senior year by Summer 2027.
- Interest in commercial HVAC, building systems, technical sales, or project management.
- Technical aptitude and a desire to learn HVAC systems and applications.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, mechanical plans, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with CAD, HVAC selection software, MEP design, or commercial construction is helpful.
- A curious, dependable mindset and a willingness to ask questions and receive feedback.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
