About the role#
We are looking for an Inside Sales Engineer Intern to join our team for Summer 2027. You will work with Inside and Outside Sales Engineers to support commercial HVAC projects. This role covers the project lifecycle from initial design and equipment selection to estimating, proposals, and final delivery. You will gain exposure to our product lines and learn how technical solutions meet specific customer needs. This internship combines engineering, project coordination, and sales support.
What you'll do#
- Partner with the sales team to support projects through design, estimating, and completion.
- Review mechanical plans, specifications, and schedules to understand design intent.
- Assist with selecting HVAC equipment based on performance requirements and customer needs.
- Prepare equipment estimates, pricing, quotations, and value-engineering options.
- Coordinate technical requirements, lead times, and pricing with manufacturers.
- Organize technical submittals, product data, and project documentation.
- Track project schedules, ship dates, and follow-up items.
- Communicate with customers, contractors, and consulting engineers.
- Maintain accurate job files and project records in company systems.
- Help investigate technical concerns and identify potential solutions.
- Participate in customer meetings and technical presentations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, with Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
- Ideally entering your junior or senior year by Summer 2027.
- Interest in commercial HVAC, building systems, technical sales, or project management.
- Strong technical aptitude and a desire to learn HVAC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and mechanical plans.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity, dependability, and a willingness to ask questions and receive feedback.
- Familiarity with CAD, HVAC selection software, or MEP design is a plus.
