About the role#
The Inside Sales Intern supports the Sales Engineering team by providing technical assistance, sales support, and customer engagement. This position offers a hands-on learning opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in sales engineering, product knowledge, and customer solutions. You will work alongside Inside Sales Engineers to analyze customer specifications, prepare quotations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do#
- Prepare quotations and pricing proposals based on customer specifications and engineering data.
- Analyze customer and market data to identify trends and sales growth opportunities.
- Create sales reports and dashboards using Microsoft Excel.
- Shadow Inside Sales Engineers to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Participate in meetings with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to understand product design and customer requirements.
- Provide basic technical support and communicate standard product features to customers.
- Observe and participate in customer calls to learn relationship management and sales communication.
- Follow up on quotations, project timelines, and technical clarifications.
- Collaborate on special projects to improve the quoting process and contribute to internal documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Business, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Access to Microsoft Teams with video capabilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% to observe plant processes.
- Interest in technical sales, sales engineering, or product management.
