About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in technical sales and business development within an industrial engineering environment. You will work with the Technical Sales team to manage customer data, identify new business opportunities, and support lead generation. The program lasts approximately 12 weeks and is designed to help you develop a business mindset while learning about the steelmaking industry.
What you'll do#
- Review and analyze the existing customer and prospect database to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Research potential customers across target industries and geographic markets.
- Support lead generation through prospecting, networking, and online research.
- Identify key decision-makers and stakeholders within prospective organizations.
- Collect, verify, and update contact information to ensure accurate records.
- Request and document referrals from current contacts.
- Enter and maintain information within the CRM system.
- Assist the team by researching accounts and preparing background information for sales activities.
- Track prospecting efforts and maintain organized records of follow-up opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to learn about products, technologies, and markets.
- Participate in meetings and contribute ideas to improve business development processes.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in sales, business development, and customer relationship management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Interest in working with CRM systems and business development tools.
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive mindset and a willingness to take initiative.
- Curiosity about technical products and the steelmaking industry.
Location & details#
- Location: Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, maximum 30 hours per week.
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
