About the role#
As an Actuarial Analyst intern, you will join a team of experts while gaining hands-on experience in the insurance industry. You will receive coaching and mentorship from actuarial professionals, access to learning platforms, and the opportunity to work on projects that directly impact our business. This role provides a space to grow your professional network and develop your technical skills through collaboration across departments.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with partners in Underwriting, Marketing, Risk Management, and Finance on analytical assignments.
- Monitor the profitability and competitiveness of insurance portfolios to help shape future action plans.
- Evaluate how emerging trends affect risk profiles, frequency, and severity.
- Apply actuarial techniques to support capital, reinsurance, and reserve requirements.
- Share your methods, results, and recommendations with colleagues and stakeholders through presentations.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives, including pricing model improvements and machine learning projects.
What you'll need#
- Ongoing university studies in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
- Must be an actively enrolled student for the entire duration of the internship.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Bilingualism in French and English.
- A sense of accountability, autonomy, and a track record of effective teamwork.
- An interest in IT, technology, and innovation.
Location & details#
- Term: Winter 2027, Summer 2027, or Fall 2027.
- Locations: Montréal, Québec, St-Hyacinthe, or Laval, Quebec.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with a requirement to be in the office at least two days per week.
- Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Eligibility: Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. Sponsorship is not provided.
