    About the role#

    This is a 12-week summer internship for students pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. You will work with our water resources and environmental engineering teams in Atlanta. The role involves a mix of office-based design work and field investigations. You will be paired with an experienced staff member who provides guidance and feedback throughout the summer.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform engineering calculations and develop hydrologic and hydraulic models.
    • Support civil design, stream restoration, and other water resources projects.
    • Assist with stormwater management programs and environmental permitting.
    • Conduct site assessments and wetland delineations.
    • Assist in preparing designs, including state stormwater management plans and drainage activities.
    • Review documents and design work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
    • Participate in field investigations, including surface water, groundwater, and soil sampling.
    • Aid senior staff in the preparation of technical reports.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as an academic junior or senior in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
    • Experience with AutoCAD and other engineering or modeling software.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, or project planning.
    • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
    • Completion of a pre-employment screening.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
    • Schedule: Full-time, on-site, 5 days per week.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks, starting in May and ending in August).
    • Compensation: This is a paid internship.
