About the role#
IMEG is seeking a Technology Design Intern for a 10-12 week program in St. Louis, Missouri, during Summer 2027. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship focused on the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology systems. You will work on real projects alongside an experienced team, gaining exposure to building design consulting for education and institutional markets.
What you'll do#
- Assist with design portions of technology projects according to code and company standards.
- Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
- Document design decisions, meeting notes, and client instructions while tracking project progress.
- Research commercially available equipment for project use.
- Support client relations and maintain project design notebooks.
- Conduct periodic job site observations and provide documentation for permanent record files.
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with the preparation and issuance of addendum information.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
- Strong interest in building design consulting.
- Developing proficiency in BIM software.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
