About the role#
IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for our New York office for the Summer 2027 term. This is a 10 to 12 week paid, full-time internship. You will work alongside experienced engineers and consultants on real project work, contributing to hospitality, mixed-use, office-commercial, and aviation-related projects. This role is hybrid.
What you'll do#
- Assist with designing electrical system portions of projects according to code and company standards.
- Support engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems.
- Research commercially available equipment for project use.
- Coordinate design and schedule activities with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams.
- Document design decisions, meetings, and project progress.
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct periodic job site observations.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong interest in design consulting.
- Previous exposure to CAD and/or BIM software.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written formats.
