This internship or co-op position provides electrical design support for robotics products and parts. You will work directly with engineers and administration to assist with assembly, testing, debugging, and documentation. This role supports the mission of creating accessible, low-cost educational robotics materials.
What you'll do#
- Create schematic and PCB layouts for specific products and parts.
- Assist with the design and construction of prototype products.
- Assemble products and components.
- Conduct product testing and evaluation, including the creation of technical documentation.
- Operate production equipment as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Experience with CAD design, specifically Altium, KiCAD, Eagle, or PADS.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective time management skills and a flexible approach to changing priorities.
- Two years of experience with a FIRST Robotics team or similar robotics program is preferred.
- Experience with soldering, debugging, and testing is preferred.
- Customer service experience is desirable.
Location & details#
- Location: Carrollton, Texas (On-site).
- Schedule: Rolling term, 20+ hours per week.
- Program duration: Three months for internships; two semesters or one year for co-ops.
- Compensation: Paid position ($18-$20 per hour).
