About the role#
This is a full-time, lab-based Co-op position lasting up to 12 months. You will join the R&D team in Wilmington to support research on probiotics, prebiotics, postbiotics, and enzymes. This role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience with microbiology and immunology research in a professional setting.
What you'll do#
- Support the microbiome research portfolio for human and animal products.
- Help R&D team members design, troubleshoot, and execute both in-vitro and in-vivo experiments.
- Handle laboratory studies, sample processing, and data collection.
- Record all data accurately and in a timely manner.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, or mucosal immunology.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate education, with plans to continue your studies after the co-op.
- Ability to document results, analyze data, and communicate your findings.
- Experience with basic laboratory instrumentation, such as centrifuges, plate readers, and analytical balances.
- Familiarity with microbiology techniques like aseptic culturing and strain isolation is preferred.
- Experience with molecular techniques like DNA isolation and PCR is a plus.
